Geekathlon Next Saturday the 26th at Grumpy's (Downtown)!

Can you read l33t speak? Identify geeks through history? Name that video game tune? Name pi out really far? If so, you will want to come to Free Geek's Geekathlon. This quiz bowl will feature ten intense rounds of questions focusing on the history of computers and the internet, with fabulous prizes from local sponsors -- all for a good cause: helping the needy get nerdy!

With Free Geek Twin Cities finally moving into a space, we need to start making rent and getting other people involved. So, come to Grumpy's next Saturday and test your knowledge and help out a good cause!

Free Geek Meeting and Big News!

Free Geek (TC Open Circuit) has leased a space at 34th St S and Chicago in Minneapolis!

It is an awesome building that is getting fixed up right now and will have other cool organizations in the building as well (like a thrift store).

We should be able to be fully in by October 1st and hopefully be able to do some set up before that.

We are having a meeting at 11AM this Saturday at the Walker Library. We want you to be there! We are at the point where we need to start looking at technical details and start getting the word out and fundraising. So, if you are interested in those things, please come; or if you just have a desire to help, we can find something for you.

Next Meeting

Our next meeting is Sunday 21 September 2008 at 3PM at Sundays Energy

Where are we at?

We are currently applying to get funding for a space so that FGTC can operate. We still need lots of things to be done and time is limited between the people that are currently involved. We need some more volunteers to help get this great project off the ground.

What can you do?
